back in kolkata:

We visited poulami’s graam for the weekend. Hm, if I were a little more whole maybe I could have really appreciated all the frolicking in the teak trees and lying on the rooftop that happened.
I didn’t take many photos but someone else’s will show up here. It’s this disgustingly beautiful village called Talandu, about 2hrs by train from Howra. We were joking how we all contemplated the violence of modernity a la Apu-in-the-field-bisected-by-train scene.
I’m sort of forced to compare this trip to the dozen times I’ve visited The Gram with my fam. Although the feudal set up was there, this trip was genuinely good. Ooh, it’s good to not calcify. Wooh, I’m so glad previous experiences didn’t ruin my ability to enjoy this weekend.
In a nutshell: music, rooftops, family, lots of eating, drinking and somehow by the second day we had fallen into a black hole. Reduced to fat old bhadrolokera who napped and drank tea. all day.
+I don’t know but I think I found my muse: greg-ster.
